CM Punk Quits WWE: Alberto Del Rio Talks About Punk, MITB and Roman Reigns [VIDEO]

Alberto Del Rio will square off with seven of the top WWE Superstars in a Ladder Match for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Money in the Bank Sunday night at the TD Garden in Boston, and he recently touched on the match among other topics in an interview.

Two Matches Added To MITB, Possible Ending To Divas Match Revealed

Del Rio spoke with Digital Spy about several topics including CM Punk, who quit the company back in January due to being burned out and tired of the way his character was being used. Punk left the WWE on the night after the Royal Rumble prior to a live telecast of Monday Night RAW.

Del Rio, who was the subject of rumors about wanting to leave the company for similar reasons this past year, said that he believes Punk will eventually return.

"Yeah, of course," Del Rio said when asked about Punk potentially returning. "He'll be back soon. I don't know when, but he'll back."

When addressing his own retirement, Del Rio spoke about the legacy he'll leave behind.

"Everybody knows I'm a hard worker and they know that regardless of if you like me or not, I'm going to bring the best matches every single night, because I have pride for this business," he said. "I love this business. It was passed to me by my grandfather and my father. That will be my legacy: somebody who gave everything in the ring every single night."

Del Rio also touched on the upcoming match against John Cena, Randy Orton, Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns, Kane, Cesaro and Sheamus Sunday and his thoughts on Ladder Matches in general.

"I don't really enjoy them because they're painful! But it's part of the game, and in this case, if you want to be WWE World Heavyweight Champion you have to accept the challenge and prepare yourself and your body for a lot of pain on Sunday," Del Rio said of the upcoming clash.

Del Rio was also asked about the split of The Shield and while he didn't have much to say about the trio being written out of WWE storylines, he did praise Reigns -- one of his opponents on Sunday night.

"I don't really think about The Shield, but I can tell you something - Roman Reigns is a great competitor. He's strong, fast. I would say he is the new rising star for the WWE"

Del Rio battles seven other men Sunday night for the vacant WWE World Heavyweight Championship when the WWE presents Money in the Bank live from the TD Garden in Boston.
