SummerSlam 2014 Rumors: Brock Lesnar's Return Likely Cause Of WWE Splitting Cesaro And Paul Heyman [VIDEO]

The wheels are in motion for Brock Lesnar to return to the WWE and take on John Cena at SummerSlam on Aug. 17 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, and the company has already made moves to ensure his return goes smoothly.

Final Card For Sunday's WWE Battleground

It was announced on Monday Night RAW that Paul Heyman was no longer managing Cesaro and he wasn't by his side when "The King of Swing" lost to Big E on the company's flagship program as the WWE is freeing up Heyman to be by Lesnar's side into SummerSlam and beyond.

It has been reported for the last few months that Lesnar and Cena will battle for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the SummerSlam main event, where Lesnar may win and then lose the gold back to Cena at Night of Champions on Sept. 21 in Nashville. The two were even featured on a DVD cover that was leaked accidentally by Amazon.

Update On Sting's Contract Situations After 2K15 Reveal

Heyman appeared on RAW talked to Triple H about a "Plan C" regarding the WWE Championship situation and Cena, likely a hint that Lesnar is coming back soon.

Heyman was at Lesnar's side when he ended The Streak of The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX in April, and the two are expected to take that momentum into the main event at SummerSlam.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, the WWE moved Heyman away from Cesaro because Lesnar is slated to return, possibly as soon as next Monday's RAW from Miami on the night after Battleground.

Heyman and Cesaro may very well reunite sometime down the road, but they are at least being separated so that Heyman's attention can be fully focused on Lesnar's upcoming storyline.

Battleground emanates this Sunday from the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Florida and is headlined by a Fatal 4 Way where Cena will put his WWE World Heavyweight Championship on the line against Randy Orton, Roman Reigns and Kane.

Triple H has said if Cena survives that match, there will be a "Plan B" which is likely a hint at "Mr. Money in the Bank" Seth Rollins cashing in, while Heyman discussed a "Plan C" which would be Lesnar. It's unknown if Lesnar will appear at the Battleground event, but he is likely to be around for the following night's RAW.

Cesaro was rumored to win the vacant Intercontinental Championship in the battle royal at the event, but after his current losing streak on WWE programming its unknown if that is still the plan.

The rest of the summer is sure to be exciting for the WWE, as the company continues to put the pieces into place for the return of "The Beast."
