Sting WWE Rumors: Steve Borden Discusses Potential WrestleMania 31 Match With Undertaker And Joining WWE Family [VIDEO]

A potential dream match between Steve "Sting" Borden and The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX was rumored but never came to fruition, and Sting recently spoke about potentially facing the "Dead Man" somewhere down the line.

There were rumors that a Sting vs. Undertaker match was slated for the biggest show of the year on April 6 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, but the WWE opted to have Brock Lesnar face 'Taker instead.

Sting reportedly really wanted to work with 'Taker, but the WWE dragged its feet in signing him and saw it as a 'low priority.' Lesnar faced and defeated The Undertaker in what proved to be the end of The Streak, and with 'Taker's in-ring future in doubt, a Sting vs. Undertaker match may never occur.

Sting spoke with the U.K.'s Mirror Online about having one last match, possibly with The Undertaker.

"I've made it clear I'd love to have one last hurrah, one last big match hopefully. And of course I've been outspoken about Undertaker being the opponent," Sting told the site. "I know what happened at WrestleMania where Brock Lesnar broke his streak. I think, or at least I'm hoping, that 'Taker's still going to come back and that he's not done. If he's not done, and he would consider doing it, I'd love to work with him one time. I'd love to wrestle him one time before I call it quits."

There have been reports that the WWE may bring Sting in to have his final match -- and first in the WWE -- at WrestleMania 31 and that it may be coupled with a Hall of Fame induction that weekend due to his California ties, but if that comes to fruition The Undertaker may not be ready to be his opponent.

Undertaker's in-ring future is up in the air after losing The Streak and suffering a severe injury in his match with Lesnar, and he reportedly told friends a WrestleMania 31 appearance at Levi's Stadium in California on March 29, 2015 wasn't looking good.

Sting reportedly had a WWE contract in his possession and took his time in signing it, but it seems as though the sides have agreed on something as he was revealed as a pre-order character in the upcoming WWE 2K15 video game that comes out in October.

Sting hinted on Twitter that something big would happen on July 14 and the WWE revealed on RAW in a video package that Sting would be a playable character as either the "black and white" or "surfer" version in WWE 2K15.

The former WCW and TNA icon, who has been the one WCW legend that WWE CEO Vince McMahon has come close to signing but hasn't been able to, spoke about the timing of him being included in the game and finally coming on board with the WWE.

"Why now? It's a now or never thing. I've done so many things in the wrestling business but the one thing I'd never done was wrestle or be a part of the WWE family," Sting said. "I didn't want to hang it all up and retire and disappear again without having done that in some capacity."

Sting wants one more match and it's possible it will happen at WrestleMania 31 next spring, but it is unknown whether he will be staring across the ring at The Undertaker.
