NBA Rumors: All-Star Break to Turn Into All-Star Week? [VIDEO]

Is the NBA about to turn the All-Star weekend into an All-Star week this upcoming season?

According to the Sun Sentinel, the league is planning to make the traditional three-day All-Star weekend a longer break for the players, giving the teams enough time to rest at the middle point of the season.

The move is expected to give the players seven days of break in the middle of February, enabling them to have enough rest after a grueling four-month sprint to start the season. But it could also mean more back-to-back games for every team in the 2014-15 season, a source told the said media outlet.

The Sun Sentinel quoted one of its sources who told them: "That's the model they're using right now while they're filling in the schedule. Could they go back and use some of those dates if needed? That's possible. But the week off looks like what's going to happen."

The schedule for the upcoming season will be released sometime next month, giving the television partners of the NBA like ESPN and TNT to adjust its schedule given the drama caused by this year’s free agency class.

Of course, the broadcasters would have to take into consideration that the league’s undisputed top player, LeBron James, has left the Miami Heat and re-joined his hometown Cleveland Cavaliers.

The same source also speculated that there is a big possibility that the 2015-16 season will start a week earlier.
