It's well known that Tigers ace Justin Verlander and model Kate Upton are a couple, but that doesn't mean that the former Cy Young winner can’t spoil his lady out in public.

Verlander wasn't pitching for the Detroit Tigers on Monday, but Upton was in attendance to take in a game in New York City. Cameras caught the couple talking and then Verlander pulled a suave move of tossing his girlfriend a baseball.

Upton was visibly taken back by the gesture and showed what happens when celebrity couples do adorable things in public. The Tigers lost to the Yankees 2-1 and Verlander is scheduled to pitch for Detroit on Wednesday.
Verlander and Upton have been rumored to be an item for almost two years now after originally denying their relationship to the media.
