Kevin Durant won’t test the free agent market until 2016, but KD is on the verge of striking a deal that will make him much richer, as well as help the Washington Wizards land the prized All-Star.

Durant is in talks to sign an endorsement deal with Under Armour that will pay the Thunder All-Star $30 million per year after his seven-year, $60 million deal with Nike expires. Durant said he won’t be worrying about his off the court endorsements and he will let the people on his team handle all his deals.
“I’m just going to let my team be the ones who handle that behind the scenes, I guess,” Durant told ESPN last week. “When you look at stuff like that, it’s great problems to have because people want you for what you know and do on the basketball court, the work you put in, so I’m going to continue to put my work in, let them focus on that on the other end, and we’ll come together at some point.”
Any potential deal with Under Armour doesn’t guarantee the Wizards will land Durant in 2016, but it certainly doesn't hurt their chances. Durant has downplayed the idea of returning home to the Wizards after his deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder expires on multiple occasions.

Frank Isola of the New York Daily News also points out that Wizards owner Ted Leonsis and Under Armour Founder/CEO Kevin Plank have a relationship through several philanthropic endeavors in the D.C. area.
The idea of Durant leaving the Thunder isn't out of the question, but at the same time it is still two seasons away from being a possibility. Durant could leave for greener pastures in 2016, but until then he has a great chance of winning a championship with the Thunder in an incredibly tough Western Conference.
The Thunder are second only to the NBA champion San Antonio Spurs when it comes to play in the Western Conference.
