Recently released WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio is currently being advertised to appear at Mexican wrestling promotion AAA's TripleMania XXII event this Sunday, which airs on iPPV and goes head-to-head with WWE's SummerSlam pay-per-view in Los Angeles.

AAA announcer Arturo River tweeted that Del Rio will be appearing at the event, though he didn't say in what capacity.
Wrestlingheadlines.com later reported that Joaquin Roldan of the AAA promotion confirmed that Del Rio will be on hand for the event Sunday at Arena Ciudad in Mexico City, but he also didn't specify what kind of role Del Rio will be in.

The chances of Del Rio wrestling are very slim since he was fired from the WWE last week and most talents that are contracted with the WWE have a 90-day no-compete clause attached to their deals which means they can't wrestle for any other promotion for at least three months.
It is possible that Del Rio can make an appearance without violating the agreement, but it is also possible that he may just be backstage at the event and not have an on-screen role.
Regarding his release, it has been reported that a lot of Superstars were upset to hear Del Rio was let-go after the incident with a social media worker that saw Del Rio slap him for making a racist joke that implied Del Rio should be the one to clear his plate after he was done eating in catering.
The employee, who reportedly works for WWE.com, is still employed with the company, but he could be out of a job soon after the news surfaced that he allegedly made a racist joke. Del Rio's slap was allegedly very heavy, which led to his release from the company.
There has been talk of reuniting Del Rio with Ricardo Rodriguez in Mexico, possibly in AAA. Rodriguez was fired from the WWE earlier this month. Del Rio was reportedly very unhappy in the WWE and may even be happy to be released.
There were reports earlier this year that Del Rio was looking to leave the WWE once his contract expired and wrestle in Mexico, and he could very well make his first appearance there since his departure this Sunday.
