Denver Broncos Rumors: Peyton Manning Annoyed By Fight At Training Camp [VIDEO]

The Denver Broncos didn't show much fight in their 43-8 Super Bowl drubbing at the hands of the Seattle Seahawks in February, but the same can't be said for their most recent practice where a scrum broke out and drew the ire of quarterback Peyton Manning.

ESPN reports that a fight broke out during the Broncos most recent practice and afterward Manning shared his disdain of fights on the field.

"I don't like [fights] to tell you the truth,'' Manning said. "You don't do it in a game. If you do it in a game it usually costs you something important, it costs you a drive, costs you field position. ... I'm into treating practice like a game, I'm not a fan of it.''

Things got nasty at Broncos practice on Tuesday as a chippy session turned into a situation that saw a few skirmishes with the team not practicing in front of fans due to construction at their team complex.

According to the report, guard Orlando Franklin and defensive tackles Derek Wolfe and Terrance Knighton were at the middle of an altercation that involved almost the entire Broncos team after a few chippy plays turned into a melee.

"It is a fine line, you want some chippiness, it is a combative game,'' Broncos coach John Fox said while adding the team has to keep "control of your emotions, it's something that's going to happen in games we're training for and trying to improve.''

Fox held a meeting with his players after the fights broke out and no other issues happened afterward.

The Broncos are slated to practice with the Houston Texans next week, and Manning hopes the group has had the last of its confrontations.

"I know all the coaches are looking for tough guys on their team, but there's a difference between being tough and not being smart,'' Manning said. " ... It's a matter of staying disciplined, staying composed in intense situations.''

Manning had a record-breaking season in 2013, going 450-for-659 (58.3 percent) for 5,477 yards with 55 touchdowns and 10 interceptions as the Broncos went 13-3 but lost their edge in the Super Bowl against the Seahawks.

On Tuesday, they found their fight, but for Manning and the Broncos, it was six months too late and at the expense of the team.
