Bryan spoke with BetweenTheRopes.com at the WWE 2K15 roster reveal and addressed his desire to return from injury and face Lesnar, who defeated Cena for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at SummerSlam Sunday after the interview was conducted.

"Brock Lesnar is right now out of all the WWE Superstars currently active, Brock Lesnar is the one that I want," Bryan said. "That's the match that I want. I think that match would be something different than the WWE universe has ever seen. So that's the match that I'm gunning for."

Bryan discussed what he does in his downtime.

"I've only been doing physical therapy," Bryan said. "It's crazy I do physical therapy all day every day. And on top of that I'm doing an autobiography."

Bryan has had an up-and-down year with the ultimate high of winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXX on April 6 and the lows seeing him lose his dad and suffer a serious neck injury.

"It's been tough just because...you know there's been some really good things, but then there's been some really bad things," Bryan said. "When my father passed away, that was literally probably the hardest day of my life. But a lot of people can relate to that. I'm not alone in mourning the loss of my father, that's something that everybody kind of goes through. That kind of stuff is just sad."

He added: "The neck injury, it's been a little bit demoralizing, but I look at it and I think I've been wrestling for 15 years and this is my first major surgery so I'm doing okay. But just the timing of it wasn't my favorite. I wish I could have kept the title until I lost it and then got the surgery, but it didn't turn out that way."

Bryan addressed the possibility of needing another surgery soon.

"It's still up in the air," he said. "I was scheduled for a surgery on Tuesday but then they called me last week and said they actually want to do more testing before they do the surgery. Which is good in one sense I don't want to do the surgery if I don't need it but likewise if I need the surgery let's get it done as soon as possible because that's gonna be at least another three months."

Bryan was asked if he worries about the fans losing their interest in him after he was very popular and now he has disappeared from the screens for a while due to the surgery in mid-May.

"I don't worry about it," he said. "I'm not fazed by stuff like that. I'm not worried about the fans not being there or if they are there. I'm fortunate to be able to go out there and I just love wrestling. So if the crowd completely hates me, I'll be like okay well I'll do something else."

Bryan's wife Brie Bella lost to Stephanie McMahon at SummerSlam after her sister Nikki Bella turned on her, and she took to Twitter to discuss her sister's betrayal:

Brie Bella also used Twitter and announced she'll reveal the reason for her actions on Monday Night RAW:

Bryan's status for a return is up in the air, but he just may face Lesnar somewhere down the line.
