Alberto Del Rio Contract: ADR Calls WWE Racist At AAA Event, Update On Rey Mysterio Joining Mexican Promotion [VIDEO]

Former WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio appeared at Mexican promotion AAA's TripleMania XXII event on Sunday and called the WWE racist just days after being fired from the company while Rey Mysterio also appeared in a video for the promotion.

Del Rio appeared at the event under the name Alberto el Patron and cut a promo with his father Dos Caras, saying that the WWE is racist. Though he was using a different name, AAA used an Alberto Del Rio graphic for him and his WWE theme at the end of the segment.

"Similar to many of you, or if not you, to family members of yours, who have gone to the other side looking for a better life for those that we love, I came across a monster, a monster called racism," Del Rio said in a translation of his promo which can be read in its entirety here. "Racism doesn't distinguish sex, race, religion color it doesn't care...if you have money, if you don't have it. But this man that's standing right here [points at his father Dos Caras], that has given me everything and has made me the person that I am, gave me the biggest gift a father can give his son - honesty and the spirit to triumph."

Del Rio was released from the WWE after he allegedly slapped a WWE.com employee over racist remarks that were made about him.

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that Del Rio told reporters in Mexico that he can't wrestle in the United States for a year because it would breach his contract and cause him not to get paid any additional revenue owed to him after the day of the contract breach should he wrestle in the U.S.

Del Rio also appeared at the end of the show and attacked Perro Aguayo Jr., putting him in an armbar to end the show. Mysterio, who is in a contract dispute with the WWE and reportedly is looking to join AAA, appeared in a video telling the fans that he'll be in the promotion soon.

F4WOnline.com reports that the segment was only supposed to be taped for the live crowd, but it aired on the pay-per-view and could turn into a big issue if the WWE gets wind of AAA facilitating a video featuring one of their contracted talents.

Mysterio is currently in a dispute with the WWE after the company reportedly renewed his contract for one more year without his consent, siting a clause that if a Superstar owes them time the WWE can automatically renew their deals. Mysterio has missed significant time due to a myriad of injuries.

Adding to his possible trouble with the WWE, Mysterio tweeted to wish Del Rio good luck in AAA on Sunday.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, AAA has been hesitant to deal with Mysterio because they fear a lawsuit from the WWE, and that could be coming now that he was featured in a video on their pay-per-view. While Del Rio can't wrestle in the WWE for a year, he will likely be able to compete for AAA once his no-compete clause is up. Those usually last for 90 days from when the release was made.

Del Rio made his return to Mexico, and it's still possible that Mysterio could join the promotion once he settles his dispute with the WWE.
