WWE News: Update On Brock Lesnar Vs. Roman Reigns For WrestleMania 31, Daniel Bryan's Original Role [VIDEO]

There were reports earlier this month that Vince McMahon and Triple H were at odds regarding the main event of WrestleMania 31 on March 29, 2015 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif., but it seems as though Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar has been the planned main event all along.

Monday Night RAW Preview And Possible Spoilers

Earlier this month, there were rumors that McMahon and Triple H were arguing over whether Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson or Reigns should take on Lesnar at WrestleMania 31. According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the agreed upon plan is still for Reigns to take on Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania.

According to the report, the Reigns vs. Lesnar main event was decided upon either slightly before or after WrestleMania XXX this past April 6 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

Sting Wants A Match Against The Undertaker Or Triple H

Plans are subject to change in the world of the WWE, but it appears as though the idea is still intact for now and Reigns' huge push will reach its climax at the biggest show of the year.

Lesnar was originally supposed to face Daniel Bryan at SummerSlam and Night of Champions, as had been speculated months ago, however once Bryan suffered the neck injury and was sidelined indefinitely after having surgery in mid-May, John Cena took over the role of facing Lesnar.

The original plans were to have Lesnar come back to the WWE after ending The Streak of The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX and crush the hearts of fans with a reality check by taking out Bryan, who would have carried the title from WrestleMania to SummerSlam, Wrestlingheadlines.com reports.

Lesnar would have defeated Bryan at SummerSlam for the title, instead of Cena, and would go on to beat him again at Night of Champions while continuing his dominant reign all the way up to WrestleMania, where Reigns would get his crowning moment, saving the day and the WWE Universe from Lesnar.

With Lesnar facing Cena at Night of Champions, if these plans are indeed true Lesnar will likely topple Cena again and hold onto the title while Reigns will continue to be built up and will likely win the Royal Rumble match in January to set up the WrestleMania main event.

While things can change, it appears as though it will be a huge year for Reigns and he is slated to meet "The Beast" at WrestleMania 31 in March.
