War Machine Arrest News: New Charges Filed, Pleads 'Not Guilty' 'I Ended Up Fighting for My Life' He Claimed [VIDEO]

War Machine appeared in Las Vegas court on Wednesday to face felony allegations that he assaulted his ex-girlfriend Christy Mack. He was denied bail and 31 felony counts, including two counts of attempted murder, for which he plead not guilty.

Christy Mack Seen Out in Las Vegas This Past Weekend

War Machine, born Jonathan Koppenhaver, is accused of attacking Mack and Corey Thomas in her Las Vegas home on Aug. 8. The alleged assault left Mack, born Christine Mackinday, with multiple injuries including a lacerated liver, 18 broken bones and two missing teeth. Koppenhaver was arrested at a hotel in Simi Valley, Calif. on Aug. 15 and was extradited to Las Vegas over the weekend. Despite the overwhelming amount of evidence against him, his "not guilty" plea is no surprise after the tweets he wrote while he was on the run from police.

"I'm not a bad guy," Koppenhaver tweeted. "I went to surprise my gf, help her set up her show and to give her an engagement ring and ended up fighting for my life."

Woman Responsible for War Machine's Arrest Turns Down Her Reward Money

Koppenhaver is due back in court on Oct. 17 for a preliminary hearing. It is not yet clear how he was "fighting for his life," as there are no reports of any injuries sustained by Koppenhaver. His attorney released a statement last month saying his client is "not a bad guy" and "didn't do anything illegal."

According to the police report, Mackinday told detectives that Koppenhaver entered her home using a key he never returned to her and found her and Thomas in bed together. He first assaulted Thomas before turning his attention to her, punching and kicking her repeatedly and threatening to rape her. She was able to escape and seek help when he went to the kitchen to find a knife, the report said.

Koppenhaver was very active on social media in the early morning of the eighth. At 4:38 a.m. he answered a fan who suggested he and Mackinday should get back together by saying, "She's my Property and always will be." Less than five hours later at 9:14 a.m. came his "I can't believe this... I must be cursed" tweet, which is suspected to be in reference to what happened when he arrived at Mackinday's home.
