The former Strikeforce welterweight champion was arrested Nov. 20 for DUI, according to the Lodi Police Department. FOXSports.com reported that Diaz was charged with driving under the influence, driving with an alcohol or drug level above .08, and unsafe speed for prevailing conditions. He failed to appear in court several times and eventually surrendered in court on Aug. 21 after a bench warrant was issued for his arrest and was released on $25,000 bail with his arraignment scheduled for Sept. 25.

Diaz is currently scheduled to face Anderson Silva on Jan. 31, 2015 in one of the most highly-anticipated fights in UFC history. While it is unclear if Diaz's recent legal troubles will affect the fight, UFC officials released a statement on Friday addressing the matter.

Diaz's most recent arrest came in the early morning of Sept. 6 and he was charged with suspicion of DUI, obstructing a police officer, destruction of evidence and driving with a suspended license, according to MMAFighting.com. He was released from Lodi City Jail that same morning and is expected to appear in court on Sept. 27.
