Reeva Steenkamp's Father Admits To Taking Pity on Oscar Pistorius For Shooting His Daughter? [VIDEO]

A day after one interview revealed that Reeva Steenkamp's mother didn't think justice was served with the culpable homicide verdict against Oscar Pistorius, her father said he felt sorry for the double-amputee sprinter.

The Week - UK version - reported Wednesday that Steenkamp's parents conducted an interview with Australia's SBS One, in which they reiterated their disappointment over the verdict against Pistorius, who was Steenkamp's boyfriend.

Pistorius claims he thought she was an intruder when he fired four shots into a bathroom door on Valentine's Day night, 2013, killing Steenkamp. Judge Thokozile Masipa declared him innocent of murder, although she said she didn't believe he was truthful on the witness stand.

But she added that she did believe Pistorius couldn't have foreseen that he would've killed someone when he fired the four shots.

In a somewhat surprising comment, Barry Steenkamp said he and his wife understood the toll that the ordeal has taken on Pistorius.

"In seconds his whole life changed, and you don't wish that on anybody, but things did happen, and things happened there that haven't been brought up, I know that," said Barry.

He agreed with his wife June that Pistorius' version of events did not add up to satisfy their questions about what happened.

"He could have gone to the balcony and shouted for help knowing that somebody was there. He could have pressed the alarm system [and] all this would have been prevented," he said. "I feel that there's still a missing link somewhere. I think there's quite a bit more to the whole thing than has been produced so far."

Pistorius faces sentencing on Oct. 13. The Steenkamps indicated they would like to sit down and question Pistorius about the night of their daughter's death.
