Chicago Bulls vs. Brooklyn Nets Game 7: Joakim Noah Guarantees Vctory

As the Chicago Bulls prepare for their biggest game of the season, star center Joakim Noah is busy channeling his inner Joe Namath.

“We’re a team of fighters,” Noah said after the Bulls dropped Game 6 on their home court to the surging Brooklyn Nets 95-92 Thursday night. “We keep getting punched in the face but we fight back. I’m proud of this team, and we’re going to into a hostile environment in Brooklyn and we’re going to win.”

Indeed, Noah has cause for optimism. The Bulls battled the Nets to a virtual standstill in Game 6, despite being without injured or sick starters Derrick Rose, Luol Deng and Kirk Hinrich. Key reserves Nate Robinson and Taj Gibson were also limited by flu-like symptoms.

“There was a couple times I had to throw up during the game,” said Robinson. “But I didn’t know if they were going to call a foul on me if I threw up on Deron Willimas.”

Game 7 is Saturday in Brooklyn, and though the Bulls still are certain who’ll they’ll have available or who will be at full-capacity, Noah’s confidence seems unaffected.

“I’m ready to play,” he said. “I want to go play right now. Those are my emotions.” It doesn’t get any easier from there. The winner gets defending champion Miami for the second round.

Namath famously made the art of player predictions famous when he “guaranteed” and made good on a Jets Super Bowl 111 win against the heavily favored Indianapolis Colts with a MVP- winning performance.

"Our confidence is] going up," added Bulls guard Jimmy Butler.
