The Mavericks have won three straight games, but that isn't enough to please new small forward Chandler Parsons. "It's concerning," Parsons said of Dallas nearly coughing up a 26-point lead vs. Boston. "I love how we never give up after we give up the lead. But we can't allow these teams to keep coming back in and cutting the lead."
Parsons has played well in his first few games as a Maverick, averaging 18.8 points, a career-high, along with 4.5 rebounds, and a 44 percent mark from beyond the 3-point line.
Portland is also riding high after a big win over the new-look Cleveland Cavaliers their last time out. Point guard Damian Lillard snapped out of a funk to score 27 points on 46 percent shooting against the Cavs, including 50 percent from 3-point land on 10 attempts.
"You don't have to ask what's wrong with Damian anymore," head coach Terry Stotts said. "Actually, you don't ever have to ask." There haven't been any questions about All-Star power forward LaMarcus Aldridge, whose profile was raised in the playoffs when he tortured Rockets center Dwight Howard. Aldridge has continued chugging along this year, averaging 22.8 points and six rebounds.
