Arsenal Puma Deal: English Football Club Historic Kit Deal With Puma.

Arsenal has signed a record-breaking deal with Puma. The biggest ever kit deal in English football history is ready to be signed as The Gunners bring an end to their 20-year association with Nike.

The five-year deal with the German sport manufacturer will be worth more than 170 million Euros - more than 30 million a year - according to the Daily Mirror. The deal will make Arsenal and manager Arsene Wenger powerful in the transfer market.

The Arsenal boss has already been promised 70-milion by the club, to spend on the upcoming transfer market.

Sportswear giants Adidas and Warrior sought after and Arsenal deal, even putting out designs to the London based club, but were eventually out-bided by Puma.

Puma have seen a commercial opportunity, says the Mirror, as the company has strong links with the African market - "an area where they believe Arsenal are particularly strong and have even bigger potential".

The deal is a major coup for Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis. "It will strengthen his belief that the club are making major strides forward off the pitch which will enable them to compete for the biggest signings," says the Mirror.

The deal passes Warrior's 25-million a year deal with Liverpool signed earlier this year.

The deal is not yet finalized and would mean Arsenal will start wearing the Puma jersey at the start of the 2014/15 season.
