In the U.S., the WWE Network was down for two hours Wednesday night, but was back up before 11 p.m. ET. The WWE recently offered a one-month free trial for new subscribers that will also include the Survivor Series event on Nov. 23 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis for free.

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, it was the first time since the network launched in February that it experienced some significant downtime. There have been some glitches and delays, but the network never went completely down for a significant amount of time.

There was originally talk that the network went down because it was hacked, but it was apparently shutdown internally for some unknown reason.

While the WWE Network's Twitter account didn't officially tweet about the problem right away, Wrestlingheadlines.com released the following transcript of a letter the company wrote a subscriber.

"Dear WWE Network Subscriber

"Well you know what? There was a last minute brokering and it appears like the show will be done instead for the WWE Network," Foley told ThisIsInfamous.com. "Yeah it is awesome.

It's unknown what caused the WWE Network to go down, but the company has apologized for the error.
