The Bengals began the year 3-0 before stumbling between dominant and pathetic performances varying week to week. "We've got to find a way to be consistent," quarterback Andy Dalton said coming off the worst performance of his career last Thursday.

"We haven't been in the losses. I think that's what it comes down to. Every week we have to come to play. We have to find a way to do that."

The Saints have also struggled with consistency; after a slow start they had won two straight games, including a throttling of the Green Bay Packers. They reverted last Sunday though, dropping a home game to the San Francisco 49ers.

"I thought we had kind of gotten over the hump but we're right back here, so we're going to have to do whatever it takes to win these close ones," Saints tight end Jimmy Graham said. "That's the difference between us being a great team, and us just being a mediocre team."

Quarterback Drew Brees has shouldered much of the blame for the Saints struggles, admitting he hasn't taken care of the ball this year.

"Something's got to get fixed," Brees said. "I'm not happy about it. I can't turn the ball over at the rate I'm turning it over and I can't turn it over in the situations that I'm turning it over. I'm aware of that."

It could be tough sledding vs. the eighth-ranked pass defense of the Bengals per FootballOusiders.com, but Mark Ingram may have a ball on the ground. Cincinnati has been ranked as the NFL's worst rush defense in 2014.
