Boas Wants Bale To Stay In Tottenham.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Andre Villas-Boas wants star player Gareth Bale to sign a new contract with the Spurs to end transfer speculation.

The Welshmen added to his list of trophies after collecting his Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year award after a very successful season in which he's scored 30 goals for the Spurs and his national team of Wales.

The award came 12 days after the Professional Footballers Association rewarded him for his success by naming him Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.

Bale, 23, has been linked with almost every big club in Europe. Big players in the transfer market such as Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and Chelsea have been rumored to be interested in the young Welshmen's Service, but Real Madrid have confirmed interest early in 2012, and have been monitoring his progress this season.

Tottenham have placed a 70 million pound pricetag on Bale after Manchester United showed interest in the player, his decision to stay at White Heart Lane could be pending on the teams ability to qualify to Champions League next season which is still open for the taking.

"It would be good for him [to sign a new contract]," Villas-Boas told reporters. "I think he deserves it for the season he's had. Obviously we could put to bed every single speculation that's coming out.

"It would be excellent and I think a reward for what he has achieved this season."
