War Machine Latest News: Charges Upheld After Christy Mack Testimony, 911 Call Are Heard In Court [VIDEO]

Former mixed martial artist War Machine, whose birth name was Jonathan Koppenhaver, is facing 34 criminal charges following the beating of ex-girlfriend Christy Mack, a famous adult film star, and a man he found with her in her home named Corey Thomas.

War Machine is up against attempted murder, sexual assault and kidnapping charges in the wake of a beating he reportedly administered to her during the summer. He fled the scene and hid from authorities for a week before being apprehended.

During a preliminary hearing earlier this week Mack, whose real name is Christine Mackinday, gave her testimony of being attacked by her ex. She claimed he had one of her "kitchen steak knives" throughout the ordeal, and he used it to cut off her hair. When treated she was found to have a broken nose, broken eye socket, lacerated liver, and several teeth missing.

During her testimony, War Machine was reportedly laughing and smiling. When a prosecutor asked to have his reactions on record, his attorney objected. Judge Melanie Andress-Tobiasson overruled the objection stating, "I watched him laugh." During her testimony Mack's 911 call was also played, during which she could be heard screaming "Stop it John!"

Since his apprehension War Machine has displayed bizarre behavior. He attempted to kill himself in his jail cell by hanging himself with a bed sheet. A prison guard discovered him severely lacking in oxygen but saved his life.

He wrote that he "bi****d out prematurely," in his suicide attempt after speaking to several prison employees.

"A few very nice officers came and spoke to me while I was on suicide watch, made me realize a few things, mostly that I called it quits too early. Never in my life have I been a quitter, and I know that my perseverance is the main quality which makes me appealing to fans ... and I'll be the first to say that I bi****d out way too prematurely.

"I'm sorry to all of my loved ones and supporters, this order has just been hell on me. Everything was going so well and this s**t just blindsided me."

War Machine has also penned dark poems from prison that have been posted on social media, the most recent of which went up on Halloween.
