MLB Trade Rumors: Athletics, Indians Discussing Brandon Moss Trade [VIDEO]

The Oakland Athetics are looking to continue their busy offseason as slugger Brandon Moss is actively being shopped and the Cleveland Indians are in talks with the A's about a potential trade.

Oakland has already made several moves this offseason, and a trade of Moss could continue that trend as the team looks to ramp up its prospect pool.

Moss, 31, is just one season removed from a 30-homer campaign and hit 25 long balls last year, which ranked second on the team. Moss also totaled 81 RBI to place second on the team while he hit just .234 as he battled a hip injury that required offseason surgery.

MLB.com reports that the A's and Indians are engaged in talks while several other teams are also interested, but nothing appears imminent.

The Athletics have already made a handful of moves, dealing Josh Donaldson to the Toronto Blue Jays for Brett Lawrie and three prospects and the team is also looking to reel in some more prospects in a possible trade of Moss.

Moss has become expendable in Oakland because the team already brought in designated hitter Billy Butler and first baseman Ike Davis and has other options at the positions.

Moss is projected to make $7 million in 2015 through arbitration. The A's are also shopping Jeff Samardzija and the White Sox and Red Sox are said to be among the clubs that are interested.

Moss was drafted by the Red Sox in the eighth round of the 2002 draft and has also played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Philadelphia Phillies.

He has been a fixture of the Athletics lineup and clubhouse since 2012.

Moss is a lifetime .248 hitter with 91 homers and 298 RBI.
