Brandon Marshall Takes Shot At Jay Cutler? WR Discusses Bears' 'Buyer's Remorse' On Big QB Contract

The Chicago Bears are struggling, and many fans are questioning whether the team ought to give up on quarterback Jay Cutler and head coach Marc Trestman. The team has far too much talent to be in the situation they are in, and the duo is taking the brunt of the blame.

There are questions about whether the Bears can do much to change their situation, however. Jay Cutler just received a massive contract extension, and the Bears are likely stuck with him for the forseeable future barring some sort of trade.

People around the NFL have long been enamored with Cutler's talent because of his rocket arm and above-average mobility, but he has yet to translate those skills into truly elite quarterback play.

According to media reports, star wide receiver Brandon Marshall was recently asked what he thought about Cutler's contract, and he initially defended his quarterback, as any good teammate would. "That's tough, man," said Marshall. "What I would say is we all know Jay is more than capable of getting it done. It doesn't always fall on him."

However, Marshall continued let slip what could be seen as a criticism.

"I guess that's why those guys are the highest paid players out there," he continued. "Because when you win and everything is going good, they get all the glory. And when it's bad, they take more than what they should take. But I can understand that as far as as a business man, I would have buyer's remorse, too."

Chicago is 5-8 and coming off of a blowout loss at home to the Dallas Cowboys. The loss eliminated the Bears from playoff contention, which was a striking dose of reality for the franchise, which had entered the season with hopes of winning the division. Many around the NFL agree that the team has far too much talent to play so poorly, although nobody seems to have an idea what how to solve the problem.
