Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Next Fight: Carl Froch Wants JCC Jr. In Las Vegas Or He's Retiring? [VIDEO]

Carl Froch, the WBA and IBF super middleweight champion of the world wants to fight in Las Vegas for his next title defense, and if he doesn't he may retire. According to his promoter Eddie Hearn, however, he may get his wish.

Hearn said that Froch's team is working on a title defense that would take place in Vegas and pit him against Mexican boxing superstar Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

"Hopefully we get Froch-Chavez Jr made," Hearn said to Sky Sports. "Out there I'm trying to tie things up. We are looking at the end of March potentially for that date. It's a great fight - Carl gets his Vegas fight."

Froch last fought in May when he retained his titles by finishing George Groves via TKO for the second time in the U.K. Their rematch took place at Wembley Stadium.

Chavez Jr., one of the sport's most popular fighters, has been frustratingly inactive due to promotional disputes. A potential fight with middleweight star Gennady "GGG" Golovkin was derailed because of contract problems, and he hasn't fought since a unanimous decision win over Brian Vera in March.

Last month Chavez Jr. signed on with adviser Al Haymon, who controls much of the top talent in boxing. Now that his contract woes are behind him, Chavez Jr. is said to be seeking a major fight.

"I want to give all my fans an update on my boxing future. I had a great meeting on Friday with my team: My lawyer Howard Weitzman, my manager Al Haymon and Billy Keane. They have begun the process of setting up my next fight, which will occur in early 2015," Chavez said in a statement to fans.

"We are looking at a number of top opponents because I only want to fight the best moving forward. The details of my next fight will be finalized in the very near future. So stay tuned. I want to thank all my fans for their support and I can't wait to get back to fighting. You'll be seeing a lot of me in the ring in 2015."
