AJ Lee WWE Rumors: Backstage Update On Diva's Status [VIDEO]

While there have been rumors that WWE Diva AJ Lee may be getting set to depart the company soon, there have been new reports that the company almost put the Divas Championship on her at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs (and stairs) on Sunday.

Paul Heyman Hints At CM Punk's Ryback Comments At TLC

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, there was talk of having Lee defeat Nikki Bella at TLC at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland on Sunday, but the WWE opted to keep the belt on her by having her spray Lee in the face with hairspray and hit the Rack Attack for the win.

The WWE then went with an injury story saying that Lee suffered damage to her eyes, which seemed to hint toward the fact that she was leaving the company.

Update on Brock Lesnar's Post-WrestleMania 31 Plans

It was reported previously that Lee was getting set to leave the WWE around last month's Survivor Series or after this month's TLC event so that she could be around her husband and former WWE Superstar CM Punk.

Lee was by Punk's side when he officially announced that he has joined the UFC at UFC 181 earlier this month in Las Vegas.

It was then rumored that Lee may join her husband in leaving the WWE following Punk walking out on the company and bashing it on Colt Cabana's Art of Wrestling podcast before the UFC announcement.

While there were initial reports that Lee might leave the company, the fact that WWE officials were willing to put the belt on her Sunday night at one point makes it seem likely that the three-time Divas Champion will be sticking around in the organization.

There were also talks of adding Brie Bella to Sunday's match to make it a Triple Threat between both Bella twins and Lee, but it didn't happen. It could be taken as a sign that the WWE doesn't know what to do with the Bellas as they've been booked inconsistently as of late.

While it seemed as though Lee may be leaving the company soon, that speculation seems to have been incorrect.
