WrestleMania 31 Rumors: Chris Jericho Unlikely To Appear At The 'Show of Shows' [VIDEO]

Chris Jericho has been known to swerve fans in the past, but there appears to be some truth to the WWE Superstar-turned-rock star's insistence that he will not be at WrestleMania 31 in March.

Jericho has told fans on Twitter repeatedly throughout the last couple of months that there are currently no plans for "Y2J" to wrestle or make an appearance at WrestleMania 31 on March 29 at Levi's Stadium in California.

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that it appears that Jericho is not scheduled for the biggest event of 2015, though his official status is up in the air and things could change.

TNA Furious At Spike TV as Relationship Comes To An End

Jericho just re-signed with the WWE on a pact where he works 15 dates, but they're all slated to be live un-televised events. Jericho's deal runs between January and February and following that, he is on the road with Fozzy in Europe from March 4-19.

Jericho said he wants to stay off of television unless a return to the squared circle on one of the company's programs would lead to something meaningful, which is why he signed a deal to work 15 non-televised dates for the WWE.

It is said if Vince McMahon wants him bad enough and if Jericho deems something worthy of returning for, he could possibly appear at WrestleMania 31 for a program. Still, with Fozzy's tour wrapping up just 10 days before the "Show of Shows," it's unlikely there will be enough time for proper buildup.

Jericho returned over the summer for a feud with Bray Wyatt and his latest WWE stint closed out with a match against Randy Orton at Night of Champions in September.

Jericho then toured Europe with the company last month, but only appeared on television once during the tour for a "Talk is Jericho" segment with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Jericho also recently served as a guest general manager on Monday Night RAW on Dec. 15.

The current rumored matches for WrestleMania 31 include Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, Sting vs. Triple H, The Undertaker vs. Bray Wyatt and John Cena vs. Rusev -- though things could change.

If that is the actual plan, that leaves guys like Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Randy Orton up in the air, which could prompt the WWE to plug Jericho into a feud with them, though that is merely speculation.

While there is still a chance that an appearance could happen, it appears unlikely that WrestleMania 31 is Jericho.
