KNICKS vs. ROCKETS Watch FREE Live Stream Online & Listen: Houston At New York

Tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET on TNT the New York Knicks (5-33) will attempt to snap a historically bad 13-game losing streak on their home floor at Madison Square Garden when they take on the Houston Rockets (24-11). The Knicks' current slide is the worst in franchise history. They have dropped 13 consecutive games, are dealing with a nagging knee injury to their franchise cornerstone Carmelo Anthony, and just traded away a frustrating, but sometimes potent scorer in J.R. Smith.

When asked if the team would be excited to break this historic skid, Knicks head coach Derek Fisher was all business.

"We can't get caught up in the history and record and number of games," Fisher said, "and so we're coming out and trying to win one game, and we're supposed to celebrate because we broke a streak? No. That's not who we're going to be."

Houston is giving up just 97 points per game, the fifth-best mark in the league, so snapping the dubious streak will be no easy task. Anthony is not expected to play, and neither is power forward Amar'e Stoudemire who is also fighting knee soreness.

The Rockets were experiencing a little turbulence of their own prior to Wednesday night when they knocked off a LeBron James-less Cavaliers team and snapped their own three-game road skid.

Dwight Howard led the way with 19 rebounds, which head coach Kevin McHale said was something they had urged him to ramp up.

"We challenged him to rebound and he got every one of them," McHale said. "If we missed it, he got it. If they missed it, he got it. That's a good combination for us."
