WWE Rumors: Randy Orton, Sheamus and AJ Lee Returning At Royal Rumble 2015? [VIDEO]

The WWE usually likes to save surprising returns and comebacks for its Royal Rumble pay-per-view and with the 28th annual event emanating from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia this Sunday, some top stars may be set to return.

WWE Monday Night RAW Results 1/19/15: Sting Appears on Final Episode Before The Royal Rumble

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, Randy Orton, Sheamus and AJ Lee all might make appearances at or prior to the Royal Rumble event on Sunday.

Orton has been sidelined since the WWE wrote him off in November by having Seth Rollins, Triple H and Kane deliver a beat down to him. This was written into the show in order to give Orton time off so he could film a WWE Studios movie, which has since wrapped.

3 Matches, More Participants Added To Royal Rumble Card

It is highly likely that "The Viper" makes his return at the Royal Rumble event this Sunday night, either by attacking Rollins during his Triple Threat Match with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar and John Cena or by having him enter the 30-man match as a surprise entrant.

Orton was pulled from live events for this coming weekend, but is still being advertised for the Royal Rumble by the WWE for new ads showcasing the 30-man main event. Orton is also scheduled to appear at next week's Monday Night RAW and SmackDown tapings as well.

Sheamus has been sidelined for over a month as he underwent surgery for an unknown cause. "The Celtic Warrior" dropped the United States Championship to Rusev on Dec. 3 and then was written off of television after the mighty Russian and Mark Henry attacked him.

It is possible that Sheamus is yet another surprise entrant in the Rumble Match, though there are also reports he may make a surprise appearance on SmackDown in the WWE's continuous initiative to promote the brand's move to Thursday nights.

There have been reports that Sheamus may return as a heel, but it remains to be seen. With SmackDown being taped on Tuesday night, it is possible the WWE opts to have Sheamus come out as a way to create a buzz for the show airing on Thursday.

As for Lee, there have been plenty of rumors that her tenure in the WWE could be through and that she was pregnant, but she recently shot down that speculation on Twitter.

The three-time WWE Divas Champion was backstage at this week's Monday Night RAW and while it remains to be seen if she appears during the Royal Rumble event itself, she's booked for house shows in New Jersey this weekend.

The only Divas match scheduled for the Royal Rumble is a tag team match between The Bella Twins and Natalya and Paige, so if Lee does appear it would likely be during that match to get revenge on Nikki for "blinding" her last month.

The Royal Rumble is always full of surprises and three big names could return to action when the 28th annual event goes live this Sunday at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
