Sting WWE Rumors: Backstage News On 'The Vigilante's' Return To Television [VIDEO]

With WWE Monday Night RAW getting canceled last week, a possible plan for "The Vigilante" Sting to appear on the show may have been scrapped.

Brock Lesnar Pulled From SmackDown This Week

Triple H challenged Sting to appear at the Fast Lane event on Feb. 22 at the FedEx Forum in Memphis and there were rumors that the WWE may have been planning something on this week's RAW to set up the storyline with Sting himself possibly showing up.

The WWE was forced to postpone this week's edition of RAW from the XL Center in Hartford due to a snowstorm that hit the Northeast and led to numerous travel bans.

The WWE then opted to have a special edition of the flagship show from their studios with exclusive interviews and a replay of two of the Royal Rumble bouts from Sunday.

The company also had to cancel the SmackDown tapings in Boston on Tuesday and will now air a live edition of SmackDown from the XL Center on Thursday.

Wrestlingheadlines.com reports that before RAW was canceled there were rumors that Sting may surface on the show to lead to Triple H challenging him to come to Fast Lane, but it's unknown for sure if that was the plan.

Now, it is expected that Sting will be off of WWE television between now and Fast Lane on Feb. 22.

Anything is possible, however, and the WWE has been re-working the scripts for SmackDown this week and will integrate some ideas that were slated for RAW into the show.

Sting is not expected to be on-hand for SmackDown, but anything can happen.

Sting and Triple H are set for a showdown at Fast Lane while the only match booked for the card so far will see Rusev battle John Cena.
