Everyone has their own personal favorite things about the Super Bowl. Obviously anyone cares if their favorite team is involved in the game, but even if they are not, people still tune in to watch the game, the commercials, or the halftime show. After Doug Baldwin caught a TD pass because Darrelle Revis got picked by the umpire (which was the only completion Revis allowed all game, by the way), Sherman taunted him from the sideline. It's safe to say that it came back to bite him, as there were dozens of variations on this joke.
