San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich is widely regarded as being the best active coach in the NBA, and there are only a couple of names that people will even dare to put near his level. He is only slightly less well-known for his interview tactics.

Popovich is known to think that sideline interviews are a waste of time, and he does not particularly enjoy postgame chats with the media either. His answers rarely say anything substantive, they are generally as short as possible, and many perceive them to be frequently rude.
Now, people are saying that the coach is basically the NBA's version of Marshawn Lynch. Seattle's star running back also hates talking to the media, only showing up to avoid being fined, and making a mockery of the entire process when he does show up by answering every question with the same answer.

According to Fox Sports, Popovich, claims that he is vastly different from Lynch when it comes to media relations.
"The only time I'm uncooperative is the end of the first or third quarter," Popovich said. "Other than that, I do interviews and laugh it up with everybody all the time. I just have a philosophical difference with the NBA, and I let them know it every time. But that's like 1 percent of the interviews that I do."
Popovich's in-game interviews are often hilarious for viewers, as he so obviously attempts to get out of them as soon as possible.
"I said, 'I'm supposed to be setting the defense and offense to start the next quarter, and I can't do my job because I'm doing this inane deal with whoever is asking me a question,'" Popovich said. "The questions are unanswerable. It's like, 'That quarter, you got killed on the boards. What are you going to do about it?' 'Well, I'm going to conduct a trade during timeouts.' Or, 'I'm going to ask them nicely to do a better job on the boards.'
"The questions just demand a trite quip, or something, so I just say, 'You know, it just puts everybody in a stupid position.' And (NBA officials) listen to it, and then they go, 'Yeah, well (blabbering).' And then they don't do anything about it. So I just do what I do."
