PGA Tour Leaderboard: Tiger Woods Drops to Worst-Ever World Ranking, Rory McIlroy Still No. 1

Tiger Woods suffered through scandalous infidelity, a public divorce and surgery on his back; however, the 39-year-old managed to hit a new low.

Following withdrawal from the Farmers Insurance Open after just 12 holes, Woods fell to 62nd in the latest World Golf Rankings. It's the former World No. 1's worst position since joining the tour in 1996.

Unsurprisingly, Rory McIlroy remained at the summit of the golfing world, holding a massive lead over Henrik Stenson.

Woods offered his frustration following his early exit last Thursday.

"It's frustrating that it [my back] started shutting down like that," he said (via USA Today). "I was ready to go. I had a good warm up session. Then, I got cold standing out there and everything started deactivating again. It's frustrating that I just can't stay active. That's just the way it is."

"We usually don't have to wait like this back home practicing," Woods added. "You can keep going and going. My glutes are shutting off and they don't activate."

As for the 2015 FedEx Cup season points, the top 10 remained largely unchanged, with Jason Day seeing the most significant jump, moving from 53rd to seventh.

The next PGA Tour event, the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, is scheduled from Feb. 12 - 15 at the Pebble Beach Golf Links.
