Six Nations 2015: Warren Gatland Names Wales Team to Face Scotland, Admits Letting 'the Fans Down'

It wasn't the best of starts for Wales in the opening match of the 2015 Six Nations championship. Before a capacity crowd at Millennium Stadium, the hosts faltered to England's so-called second-string by a score of 21-16.

Facing criticisms following the result, head coach Warren Gatland offered his apologies to the fans and outlined a plan for Sunday's encounter with Scotland.

"I thought we played okay in the first half against England," Gatland said (via Walesonline). "Having spoken to the English coaches afterwards, they thought they were under pressure, but we didn't start the second half well. Our performance wasn't good enough and we let the fans down. We need to go out there and play for more than 40 minutes."

"Sometimes, your gut instinct is to let guys fix things from last week," he added. "From our point of view, we want to play some more rugby. We have to make sure we don't get sucked in and that's what happened against England."

A concussion to George North prompted Gatland's only change in the lineup.

"Liam Williams has been playing very well. We ruled George out. He hasn't been able to train this week. There was a debate last week and Liam was unlucky not to be in the starting lineup."

"The wingers tried hard last week and hopefully Liam will take his opportunity."

Wales travel on Sunday to BT Murrayfield to face Scotland. Both teams will look to obtain their first victory of the tournament.
