The WWE presented NXT Takeover: Rival tonight from Full Sail University and in the end there is a new NXT Champion as Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn.
Owens meticulously and menacingly attacked Zayn and targeted his head. When Owens wouldn't let the medical staff help Zayn and he kept attacking him, the referee called the match by saying Zayn could no longer compete and handed Owens the NXT Championship.
There is also a new No. 1 contender for the NXT Championship as Finn Balor defeated Adrian Neville after hitting a stomp from the top rope to win their match. The two shook hands after the bout.
There is a new NXT Women's Champion as Sasha Banks dethroned Charlotte in a Fatal 4 Way match that also included Bayley and Becky Lynch. The finish saw Banks put Charlotte in a crossface and then eventually roll her up to win the gold.
After the match, it looked like Sasha and Charlotte were going to hug, but Sasha pushed her away and began to dance.
Blake and Murphy were more fortunate in their NXT Tag Championship defense as the duo defeated Kalisto and Sin Cara with a suplex and frogsplash combination.
In other action, Baron Corbin defeated Bull Dempsey in a No Disqualification Match after he hit him with the End of Days while Hideo Itami defeated Tyler Breeze after hitting a running kick.
