Reggie Bush Cut: Three Destinations For The Former Detroit Lions Running Back

The Detroit Lions unexpectedly cut running back Reggie Bush on Wednesday after two seasons with the team.

Bush had a great 2013 for Detroit, surpassing 1000 yards for the second time in his career. However, he struggled with injuries and a diminished production in 2014 -- his final stat line of 297 yards and two touchdowns simply wasn't cutting it.

However, Bush is only 29 and still has something left in the tank. Here are three potential destinations for 2015.

New York Jets
The Jets need a fast running back to pair with the more bruising style of starter Chris Ivory. Rumors are that they're preparing to send a lot of money CJ Spiller's way. However, if they don't land Spiller or decide he's not worth the price tag, Bush would fit nicely in new coordinator Chan Gailey's spread offense.

Carolina Panthers
The Panthers parted ways with DeAngelo Williams themselves this week, and they have a lot of cap space to throw around. Bush is a good receiving back who would complement Cam Newton nicely.

Philadelphia Eagles
Philadelphia head coach Chip Kelly is enamored with Oregon QB prospect Marcus Mariota, and many think he might make a major push to move up from the 20th pick to the top five in order to draft him. If he plans on leapfrogging that many teams on the board, he'll have to offer a major haul, including either multiple first and second round picks, or a first round pick and a blue chip player like LeSean McCoy. If he pursues the latter course of action, Bush would serve as a good piece of insurance at the position.
