Newscaster Kacie McDonnell is back in the news for the first time after she and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Aaron Murray called off their engagement in January.
Relationships come and go all the time in the public life, but Murray and McDonnell genuinely seemed like they were prepped for the long haul. McDonnell had even moved from her native hometown and job with Fox 29’s Good Day Philadelphia in order to be closer to Murray in KC.
However, things look to be on the up professionally for McDonnell in her new hometown. In addition to a reporting gig with the city’s 41 Action News channel, McDonnell will also be joining the broadcast team for Sporting KC, the town’s MLS soccer club. She’ll be in charge of the pregame and postgame shows, as well as in-game sideline interviews.
“This is a dream come true,” McDonnell said, via the Kansas City Kansan. "I've always thought that if I could get a melting pot and throw sports, news and entertainment into it, I'd have my dream job. Now, I have that and I look forward to working with the SKCTV crew this coming season."
