The 27-year-old Sunderland star was taken into custody at his home in County Durham earlier this week, after being notified of the illicit incident via the girl’s own father. Reports from The Telegraph indicate that the 15-year-old girl (who is not being named for obvious legal reasons) had bragged about the sexual encounter to friends, and on social media as well.
Rumors spread that Johnson had also posed for pictures with the young lady, but those were later revealed to be photoshopped.

Johnson has been suspended from Sunderland until the investigation is resolved.
Despite the tawdry nature of the accusations against him, Johnson’s girlfriend Stacey Flounders is standing by him. The couple have a newborn baby together.
"They are still very close and are absolutely still together,” Flounders’ mother told The Daily Mirror. He is 100 percent innocent and we will stand by him. He hasn't been found guilty of anything. He is a great lad and has not done anything wrong. This is a horrible situation.”
