Whenever a popular and talented player elects to switch teams in free agency, there will always be a certain amount of resentment from the fans of the player's former team. They feel slightly betrayed because the player left by his own decision, and they probably feel a little bit insulted also because the decision to leave implies that there is a team better than yours, which is something no fan wants to hear or believe.

So when DeMarco Murray opted not to re-sign with the Dallas Cowboys and joined their hated rivals the Philadelphia Eagles, instead, Dallas fans were understandably a little irked. Some would argue that the jersey burning and what not was a bit too much, and they may be right. But over the weekend, Murray happened to be in Dallas, and it gave fans a chance to let him know how they felt in person.

Murray spent Saturday night in attendance at UFC 185, which was being held in Dallas. Obviously the wound in fresh, so the fans' vitriol will be most intense right now, but it certainly does not sound like Murray will be very welcome again in Texas anytime soon.

The NFL schedule for 2015 has not yet been released, but we know that Dallas and Philadelphia will play twice since they are division rivals. The matchups are always intense, but with both teams figuring to be in the hunt for playoff spots this season, the Murray team switch will probably get the fans even more riled up, particularly when the two meet at JerryWorld in Dallas.
