Now that the dust has settled after a pretty wild start to the NFL's free agency period, more attention will likely focus on the remaining big names that have yet to sign or the few more players that could become available. Perhaps the biggest name to be discussed is Adrian Peterson, as there still does not appear to be a resolution in sight for the running back's future.
Adrian Peterson Asking For Trade To Dallas?
It is widely believed that the star back does not want to continue his playing career as a member of the Minnesota Vikings. It is also believed that the team would prefer to trade Peterson instead of releasing him and losing him without any compensation. But the number of teams that are looking to add Peterson appear to be dwindling.
The Indianapolis Colts used free agency to address their running back needs, as did a few other teams. The two main destinations were for Peterson were thought to be Arizona and Dallas, but now, according to Pro Football Talk, Arizona also appears to have lost interest.

Peterson has three years and $45 million remaining on his contract, and the Cardinals apparently will not trade for Peterson if he carries that kind of cap hit.
"We haven't had contact with the Vikings about it, to the best of my knowledge," said a source within the organization. "And there is no way we could live with those numbers. We just got Larry Fitzgerald's contract under control. No way we'd add that salary."
If the Cardinals are indeed out on Peterson, that would leave Dallas as the lone team with serious interest in acquiring Peterson. Being the only bidder on something can make negotiations tricky, however. Minnesota wants as much value as possible for their player, and Dallas wants to avoid bidding against themselves.
The Cowboys did sign Darren McFadden last week, but obviously they can still use running back help, and adding Peterson would prime them for another run at an NFC East crown.
