The concept of WrestleMania may not have come to existence without the popularity of Hulkamania and WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan, who was responsible for that movement, recently shared some of his favorite memories from the WWE's cornerstone event and talked about his relationship with "Macho Man" Randy Savage.

Hogan was featured in WWE's Legends of WrestleMania magazine and shared his favorite memories from the iconic WrestleMania event ahead of its 31st installment on Mar. 29 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
"The Hulkster" touched on his epic encounter with Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III which changed the shape of pro wrestling, his classic clash with The Rock at WrestleMania X-8 in 2002 -- his first match in the WWE in nine years -- and his great bout with Savage at WrestleMania V for the WWE Championship.

"You know, you can't take anything away from that Andre match, brother," Hogan told the magazine, according to Wrestlingheadlines.com. "That's a WrestleMania moment-93,000 people and Andre passing the torch to me. That match with The Rock, where I had been working for a different company, actually competing against this company, and came back here. The crowd showed their loyalty, that was huge. But if I really, really had to go with consistency, friendship and always being there for me, Randy [Savage] is the favorite guy."
Hogan had an up-and-down relationship with Savage in and outside the squared circle, but he said the two made amends shortly before Savage's passing in 2011.
Hogan and Savage revolutionized the industry as the Mega Powers in the late 1980s and their storyline split was the driving force behind their WrestleMania clash in 1989.
Hogan said that Savage was intense and that he used to love talking about the industry with him.
"Well, first off, when you work with Randy, it's intense," Hogan said. "The only other person that I could call at three or four o'clock in the morning to talk about wrestling and would even answer their phone is Vince McMahon. And that's how Randy was. Except Randy called me! 'Hey brother. Got an idea.' So when you got in bed with Randy, you were in it for the long haul. Good or bad, brother. He's going to drag you through the mud, whether you like it or not. And it was intense, because Randy was such a passionate person."
Hogan, who was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005, will commemorate Savage joining the Class of 2015 on the eve of WrestleMania by giving a speech about the former two-time WWE Champion as he will finally take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame.
Hogan may also have a big role at the actual WrestleMania 31 event, but it remains to be seen.
After all, the "Hulkster" put WrestleMania on the map.
