That’s guaranteed to create a stir. It also wasn’t the first time she leveraged her body for attention—she appeared in a skimpy bikini for GolfPunk last year as well. These shoots have earned Thompson comparisons to other female athletes who’ve stripped down, like tennis star Maria Sharapova, UFC champ Ronda Rousey, and soccer sensation Alex Morgan.

She also has endorsement deals with Zurich, EA Sports, Puma and Red Bull. And we haven’t even begun to mention her admirable philanthropic efforts, such as the time she devotes as an ambassador for LPGA USGA Girls Golf.
All things told, not since the heydey of Michelle Wie five-plus years ago has women’s golf had such an instantly popular and marketable star. Remember the name Lexi Thompson, because she’s here to stay.
