New England Patriots Visit White House: President Obama Cracks Jokes About Deflategate And Rob Gronkowski's Partying, But Tom Brady Nowhere in Sight [VIDEO]

College football's reigning national champion Ohio State Buckeyes visited the White House this week, and Thursday afternoon was the Super Bowl-winning New England Patriots' turn.

The team got their customary tour of the place, and stood behind President Obama as the latter congratulated them on their run of dominance.

The commander-in-chief did manage to land one sick burn about Deflategate, however. Speaking to the media, the POTUS quipped, "I usually tell jokes at these events, but with the Patriots here, I worried 11 of 12 of them would fall flat.” Ouch.

Later on, Obama also joked that Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has to "keep his shirt on," a reference to Gronk's well-earned reputation for partying.

Watch footage of that and more below:

The visit was not without a bit of minor controversy, however, as the Pats' star QB Tom Brady declined to attend. Whether that was out of political affiliation or he just had an unmovable prior commitment, we do not know.
