Los Angeles Dodgers Rumors: Yasiel Puig's Injury Return Up In The Air After Setback [VIDEO]

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig suffered a setback in his attempt to come back from a hamstring injury and it has put his immediate return to the club in question.

According to ESPN, Puig is set to undergo an MRI on Monday after he aggravated his hamstring in a Class A game during his rehab stint on Friday.

Puig, who has been on the 15-day disabled list since April 26, left Friday's game after running out a ground ball in the fifth inning and experiencing tightness in his problematic hamstring.

Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said he is uncertain of the timetable for Puig's return to the team and how much additional time the young outfielder will spend on the disabled list.

"That's what those games are for, to tell you if a guy's ready," Mattingly said via ESPN. "We found out after he pulled up and felt something that he's just not ready. It doesn't mean it's a total setback or anything. From our standpoint, I don't think it's a monumental thing or it's blown up or anything."

Los Angeles was hopeful that Puig would re-join the team prior to Monday night's game against the Miami Marlins at Dodger Stadium, but that appears to be out the window now.

The Dodgers (20-10) have enjoyed a tremendous start to the season and are one of just six teams overall and three clubs in the National League to reach the 20-win plateau at this point in the campaign while the team sits in first place in the NL West.

Puig, 24, has been limited to just 11 games this season and was hitting .279/.380/.465 with two homers, four RBI and four runs.
