Los Angeles Dodgers Rumors: Yasiel Puig Out For At Least Two Weeks [VIDEO]

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been on a hot streak lately, but they'll have to try to continue sustaining it without outfielder Yasiel Puig.

Puig has remained sidelined with a hamstring injury and Don Mattingly gave a grim update on Wednesday about the young outfielder, who has been out since April 24 with the ailment.

"He's going to be a little bit, at least a couple weeks," Mattingly said, according to ESPN Los Angeles. "So, we'll kind of let it rest for a couple days until he gets it going."

Puig further aggravated his injury running to first base in a minor league game on Monday and though tests on his hamstring haven't shown any further damage from the original strain, the team is being cautious with his return in hopes of avoiding another setback.

Despite Puig's absence, Los Angeles has been surging.

The Dodgers are 12-4 since Puig went down with the injury and are 22-11 overall, sitting atop the National League West with a five-game cushion over the second place San Diego Padres.

One reason L.A. is standing tall is Puig's replacement Andre Ethier, who is hitting .321 with five homers and 13 RBI in 30 games and owns a 1.009 OPS.

Puig has been limited to just 11 games this season and was hitting .279 with two homers and four RBI before the injury.

Puig, 24, is in his third MLB campaign and owns a .304 batting average with 37 homers and 115 RBI.
