Manchester United Transfer News: Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez Used as Bait to Lure Mats Hummels or Nathaniel Clyne

Getting the particulars out of the way: There is no future for Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez at Real Madrid, nor Manchester United. That much is already known.

United boss Louis van Gaal remains adamant that the 26-year-old, despite having a year left on his five-year deal at Old Trafford, is not a part of his first-team plans. Hernandez scored five goals in his last 11 games with Madrid—the biggest being his match-winner in the quarterfinals of the Champions League—and United are hoping to capitalize on that form.

According to the Manchester Evening News, a transfer similar to Nani's in 2014 will be the blueprint for this summer.

Per the report, Hernandez will be offered as the club attempts to negotiate deals for top targets, including Borussia Dortmund's Mats Hummels and Southampton's Nathaniel Clyne. Van Gaal is also said to be interested in Barcelona right-back Dani Alves; however, the 32-year-old is out of contract and being pushed out of the Camp Nou.

Even if he wasn't, Hernandez will do little to move a club that boasts the striking talents of Neymar, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

With so much indecision surrounding him, the Mexican international remains focused on the one thing he can control: himself.

"Only God knows where I will be this time next year," he said (via Talksport). "I love playing football and it's what makes me feel good. What I've learned is that being a success is down to me and I need to continue working hard."

Hernandez will have one final opportunity to increase his value and garnish the attention of the biggest clubs in Europe at the 2015 Gold Cup in July.
