Today at 3:45 p.m. ET, the Pittsburgh Pirates (28-24) and San Francisco Giants (30-24) take the field at AT&T Park for the final clash of a three-game series live from San Francisco.

Pittsburgh looks to complete the sweep and win for the fourth time in five games while San Francisco hopes to avoid getting swept away and to halt a four-game skid.

The Pirates continue a 10-game road trip and after winning Monday 4-3 and following it up with a 7-4 triumph on Tuesday while the Giants finish up a seven-match homestand they are 2-4 on thus far.

Francisco Liriano (2-4, 3.47 ERA) takes the mound for Pittsburgh while San Francisco counters with Tim Hudson and he is 3-4 with a 4.62 ERA this season.

Liriano has struck out 23 batters in his last two outings and is coming in on the heels of limiting the San Diego Padres to three hits in six innings of shutout ball on Friday.

The southpaw owns a 1.57 ERA on the road this season and is second in the National League in opponent batting average (.189).

Hudson, who has a 0.86 ERA at AT&T Park in his last two starts, is coming in off of an outing where he held the Atlanta Braves to one run over seven innings on Friday. Hudson, 39, has faced the Pirates 15 times in his career and owns a 3.23 ERA against them.

Centerfielder Andrew McCutchen had four hits -- including a homer -- and scored two runs while adding two RBI in Pittsburgh's 7-4 win on Tuesday. Brandon Crawford belted a two-run homer for San Francisco in the loss.

McCutchen is hitting .292 this season with seven homers and 34 RBI. Fellow Pirates outfielder Gregory Polanco is tied for third in the NL with 13 stolen bases.

Giants outfielder Nori Aoki has been a force this season as he is third in the NL with 63 hits and fourth in the league with 12 stolen bases. First baseman Brandon Belt is knotted for third in the NL with 16 doubles.

Pittsburg enters play in third place in the NL Central, six games behind the first-place St. Louis Cardinals (MLB-best 34-18) while San Francisco ranks second in the NL West, two games behind the division-leading Los Angeles Dodgers (31-21).

The Pirates look for a sweep while the Giants hope to salvage the final contest of a three-game set when these teams take the field live this afternoon from AT&T Stadium in San Francisco.
