WWE Rumors: Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins At 'SummerSlam?' Backstage News On 'The Beast's' Return [VIDEO]

The Beast and The Architect may be set to collide in New York City at SummerSlam.

Details On WWE Network Supercard Show Featuring Brock Lesnar On July 4 In Japan

According to Wrestlingheadlines.com, the original plan for Brock Lesnar's return was for him to battle WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at SummerSlam on Aug. 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

There are always a lot of creative changes within the WWE and Lesnar vs. Randy Orton had been rumored at one point, so it's unknown for sure what the WWE will opt to do come Aug. 23.

At least originally, the plan was for Rollins vs. Lesnar to be one of the headlining bouts of the biggest show of the summer.

The feud would make sense since Lesnar was last seen on the Monday Night RAW after WrestleMania 31 in March when he lost his mind and went on an attacking spree, causing Stephanie McMahon to suspend him in storyline to write him off of television.

Rollins, of course, cashed in his Money in the Bank contract at WrestleMania 31 on March 29 at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. to turn the Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns main event into a Triple Threat Match.

The Architect used the now-banned Curb Stomp on Reigns and pinned him to shock the world and pick up the first WWE World Heavyweight Championship of his career in one of the greatest endings in WrestleMania history.

It would make sense that The Beast would return with vengeance on his mind after one of the most dominant years in professional wrestling history ended with him losing the gold without getting pinned.

The Beast ended The Streak of The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans and then decimated John Cena at SummerSlam to win the richest prize in the game.

Rollins then ended Lesnar's 224-day reign atop the promotion without ever having to pin the former UFC Heavyweight Champion.

Lesnar contemplated a return to the MMA realm, but he ended up sticking with WWE and inking a new deal with Vince McMahon's company the week of WrestleMania.

Lesnar and Heyman are set to return shortly after the Money in the Bank event on June 14 and will likely play a role at the Battleground event on July 19 and then will headline SummerSlam.

It's likely that the Lesnar-Rollins rivalry takes another turn at the Biggest Party of the Summer in The Big Apple.
