Detroit Tigers Rumors: David Price Calls All-Star Game Voting A 'Joke,' Rips Miggy Snub [VIDEO]

Detroit Tigers pitcher David Price doesn't have much confidence in the opinion of Major League Baseball fans.

Price took to Twitter to share his frustration over the process for the MLB All-Star Game in which fans are able to vote for the starters of the game, which counts for home-field advantage in the World Series between the National League and American League.

Price's rant came due to the fact that seven Kansas City Royals players are projected to start for the AL, with the pitcher's biggest gripe stemming from his teammate Miguel Cabrera being snubbed in favor of Eric Hosmer.

Cabrera leads Hosmer in nearly every offensive category and for all intents and purposes should be starting over the Royals first baseman. Cabrera is hitting .325/.431/.557 with 12 homers and 39 RBI while Hosmer owns a .300/.373/.479 slash line with seven long balls and 36 RBI.

MLB.com's latest results from fan voting show that Hosmer leads Cabrera 3,551,005-2,933,108 in the race to start the game.

Price took to Twitter to discuss his displeasure with the way the All-Star Game - which he dubbed incorrectly on Twitter as the "Allstate voting" -- is put in the fans hands while adding a #VOTEMIGGY hashtag to emphasize his frustration.

"#mlb please do something about the Allstate voting...not that's it's funny but it's kind of a joke...#VOTEMIGGY," he wrote.

The southpaw also correctly pointed out that the Summer Classic decides home-field advantage, which is another reason why the fans having a say in it is ridiculous to him and he continued his tirade:

Price, 29, could find himself at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati on July 14 for the All-Star Game as he is 5-2 this season through 12 starts with a 2.70 ERA and 74 strikeouts.

As far as the hunt for October and home field advantage in the World Series goes, Price and the Tigers (31-29) trail the Royals (AL-best 34-23) in that regard as well.

Detroit sits in third place in the AL Central, 4.5 games behind division-leading Kansas City with the Minnesota Twins (33-26) sitting in second place and two games back.
