Manchester United Transfer News: Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez Offered £8 Million Bid from Inter Milan

The sun has set on the empire of Inter Milan. The club finished a pedestrian eighth in the Serie A table last season, failing to qualify for European football. To make matters worse, Roberto Mancini expects a difficult summer transfer window.

The Inter Milan boss said as much in an interview with Sky Italia (via Inside Futbol).

"It's too early to say what will happen," Mancini said. "It's not going to be an easy transfer window because there aren't many good players around and the clubs who own them don't want to sell. You have to be clever enough to make the right signings."

President Erick Thohir provided a more optimistic tone following the club's disappointing campaign.

"We will continue to work to strengthen the resilience of Inter and to ensure that Roberto Mancini may have the highest quality and the most competitive team and give the best performance for you, Inter fans worldwide," Thohir said (via Sky Italia). "Things have been written the past few days with misleading and inaccurate information about the way my group manages its business and on my willingness to support Inter in the future."

"If anyone is thinking that these stories will distract from the objective of bringing important results for Inter, he's wrong. It's my duty to invest in Inter."

One player that meets the criteria of both parties involved is Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez.

According to the Independent, Inter Milan have offered £8 million for Hernandez. The Mexican international spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, scoring seven goals for Los Blancos. With first-team playing time a priority—something he won't receive at Manchester United—a move to the San Siro is exactly the transfer he should seek.
