LeBron James News: Acting Chops on 'Trainwreck' Latest Step in Cavs Star's Image Rehab? [VIDEO]

LeBron James shouldn't quit his day job. That's not a knock on his acting skills; he's just really good at his day job.

SI.com reported that filmmaker Judd Apatow, who directed James in his upcoming movie, "Trainwreck," went on "CONAN," Conan O'Brien's talk show and said James was "the nicest guy; he's very sweet. ... He really is funny in the movie. It's unsettling how funny he is."

James' villainous reputation has taken a hit during the last month or so - his proclamation that "I'm the best player in the world. It's simple" comment, notwithstanding.

He carried the Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA Finals in his first year back since leaving the team in 2010 to pursue championships with good friend Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami. But his infamous "The Decision" program on ESPN in which he publicly jilted the Cavaliers made him an overnight bad guy.

James led the Heat to four consecutive NBA Finals appearances, and the Big Three captured back-to-back crowns in 2012-13.

LeBron's reputation began gravitating back toward the good side when he made the slightly surprising decision to return to Cleveland to try to win a title for his almost-hometown team (James was born in Akron).

He formed another Big Three with Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love, but Love got hurt in the first round of the playoffs and Irving was lost for the NBA Finals with a broken knee cap. James still managed to push the Cavaliers to a 2-1 series lead against a Golden State Warriors team that had won 67 regular-season games.

During Game 2 of the NBA Finals, James seemed to be fouled on a number of instances at critical junctures in regulation and overtime that referees did not call, which actually lent to the possibility of James appearing as a sympathetic figure.

He averaged 35.8 points, 13.3 rebounds and 8.8 assists, becoming the first player in NBA Finals history to lead the series in all three categories. He averaged 45.8 minutes per game, finally just giving out in the fourth quarter of the last three games of the series. The only other controversy involving him was his reported treatment of coach David Blatt, which was less than respectful.

But the Chicago Bulls got rid of Doug Collins before pairing Michael Jordan with Phil Jackson, so stars' run-ins with coaches is not new.

His appearance in Apatow's comedy could be the next step in his image rehabilitation.
